 Please tell us about yourself?
My name is Shania Raman. I am 27 years old. First born generation in the United States, born and raised in Fremont, California. My educational background consists of Bachelors in Sociology which I received in 2006 and a Masters Degree in Science and Public Administration which I received in 2009. I have always found an interest in expressing myself through art, whether it be painting, organizing events, dancing and singing.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
What inspired you to start a cosmetic line of your own?

I wanted to start my own business in Wedding and party planning and found I had a passion in getting brides ready for their big day. I love our Indian culture, our music, food, clothing and beautiful traditional dance which I have been able to be a part of since I was a child. From a young age, I was involved with many cultural Indian dances such as Bharatnataym. I would perform at various shows and events, and with performing, I had to wear a lot of stage make-up. I fell in love with kajol liners because it accentuated my eyes. I understood that make-up did not hide my beauty, yet allow me express myself the exact same way I expressed myself through dance.

I believe that the way a person carries him/ herself speaks volumes. I like to always present myself in a professional and neat manner. I believe that make-up cleans and brightens our face. It brings out a person’s self confidence and for me to see how I can help someone look and feel their best, is rewarding.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
Why the name "Kajol"?

I chose the name Kajol, because of its significance in my culture. Kajol is one of the most important cosmetic to apply when performing a Bharatnataym dance. In this traditional dance, the performers communicate through their eyes. Aside from its aesthetic value, kajol is also viewed as a religious trademark in offsetting. In addition, Kajol is also my favorite make-up to apply as it awakens and enhances my eyes.

Majority of my products from my line is mineral based such as our Mineral based face power, face blush and loose mineral eye shadows. Not only is it great for your skin, our products also help rejuvenate your inner radiance.
