Sharing Moments, Sharing Feluda

Posted in

There are those moments in your life which seems like just yesterday, where time stops and you find yourself much much younger. Whenever you think of these cracks in time, you are transported to the golden days of yester-years, when you actually had time to read books, listen to music or do nothing. Walking down the memory lanes, I see myself on those hot, sweaty Kolkata afternoons. I can hear the ceaseless whizzing of the fan, the tireless call of the doves on the windows and the ticking of our old grandfather clock. I recall reading Ray’s creation, visualizing Feluda as he traveled on his missions throughout India and abroad.

Stay Clean Stay Green

Posted in

Today's modern home is loaded with toxic and polluting substances designed to make domestic life easier. Most stains disappear with one spray and most homeowners used to opt for a easy solution till a few years back. But long term health concerns and the environmental pollutions caused by their production and disposal compelled us to think otherwise. As we grow more earth-conscious and environment friendly, we buy more of the “green” and organic cleaning products.

Treating Cold "Naturally"!

Posted in

I am thinking of spring but winter has not ended yet. And along with the short days and longer nights, the onslaught of cold and cough continues. Children going to school are prone to bringing back something from their friends, be it a cold, cough, sneeze or one of those unfriendly viruses. And don’t they just love to share it with their siblings? Cold medicines and anti-biotics have almost become a part of our daily diet. Although they do suppress a symptom, it does not treat the disease.

Sharing with everyone some common home remedies which has helped me and my family. Please share your course of treatment as well. Read on...

Our Children's Quest For Happiness..

Everytime its raining, we want the sun and when the sun stays on for long, we want the leaves of fall. Don’t we always want to eat what our spouse ordered from the restaurant than what we chose for ourselves from the menu? Don’t we always wonder if we could have “that” gift instead of “this”? Don’t we always want a bigger house, a thinner waist, a different cut of diamond or a better parking spot?

Is it time for Time Out

My two and a half year old boy loves to watch almost every children’s  series that comes on TV. There was a time, his favorite show was Blue’s Clues. He would be glued to the small screen, responding to Steve’s talking, jiving to the music, and cheering when Blue made his appearance. He was especially delighted when Steve introduced the “Thinking Chair”. This desirable piece of object is a red oversized chair which his grandparents will surely be thankful for. My boy always wanted a similar thinking chair.
